It was a pleasure to kick off the year with a fun piece at Waterford West State School. After completing the Tuckshop & Uniform Shop last year it is great to re-connect with the P&C for another project. The wall was in need of some TLC so I scraped back several layers, prepared the surface and applied several coats of paint. I was recently tasked with applying a mural for the Student Council Representatives at Flagstone State Community College who supplied the design. The mural was an initiative dedicated to a principal who passed and had left a positive impact and legacy within the school community. A big thanks to the students and staff who made this happen, it was a pleasure to represent the Flagstone Foxes.
After completing the Library mural at Bundamba State School last year it was great to return. This time I applied murals at the basketball court and brightened up the tuckshop which was in dire need of a fresh coat of paint.
It was great to back at the hyperdome. This time I whipped up a mural for the new Frankies Place Italian restaurant. Thanks to Shopfit Co. for making the project happen, Leda Signs and Jet Printz for the support.
It was great to contribute to the upcoming 150 year celebrations at Daisy Hill State School. Formally known as Slacks Creek State School, the design reflects the schools mascot “Daisy” the koala and some of the uniforms over the schools history. The design also references the eucalypt tree planting program which is unique to Daisy Hill State School a story which can also be used as a learning tool. Keep an eye out for the celebrations later this month.
After completing a staircase, uniform shop & tuckshop in recent years I returned to Regents Park State School. This time I painted a couple of undercover play area walls. The design features Wajin who is the schools Platypus mascot and the STAR values.

It was great to kick off the new year with a mural at Waterford West State School. I was contacted by the schools P&C committee to work some magic with the Tuckshop and Uniform Shop which were well overdue for a coat of paint. I worked to a fairly specific brief which gave me a good guide for the concept and design of the artwork which includes some of the tuck shops signature dishes.
I kept busy during school holidays with a mural at Hilder Road State School. The brief entailed a design that reflects the habitants of Fish Creek which runs through the school grounds. Recent regeneration work and plantings have made this a special place to learn and relax and it was fantastic to spot the animals I was painting nearby.
Returning to Brisbane this week I painted a 25m long mural for Wellington Park Private Care at the Wellington Point facility. The artwork transformed a backyard area for the dementia residents. Watch this space as there is another artwork planned at this site to be applied soon.
It was great to return to Upper Mt Gravatt State School after completing quite a few murals around the school grounds over the years. This time I was commissioned to create a backdrop for the newly established Community Garden. I really enjoyed contributing to this initiative as I believe every school should have some form of edible garden. It ties to many subjects and promotes healthy eating amongst an array of beneficial outcomes. Also whilst painting I noticed community members visiting to say hi to the chickens and tend to patches. Many local residents don’t have the space for gardens or animals so these types of spaces are a valuable resource, providing an opportunity that would not otherwise be accessible. A huge thanks to the Upper Mt Gravatt P&C for the opportunity to be involved and I can’t wait to to see the gardens continue to grow.
