About The Artist
A flair for drawing on school desks in conjunction with learning difficulties from a young age naturally led a path towards visual arts. Since failing art (and high school) in 1994, Sauce has dedicated more than three decades painting murals and his public art can been seen all over Australia.
His professional experience as a full time self employed mural artist since 2001 has grown from an extensive background in community mural projects often facilitating youth arts programmes including recidivist offenders in the justice system. During his early career he pioneered many arts based projects supported by community organisations such as Girl Guides Queensland, PCYC’s, Anglicare, CWA’s, RSL’s, QRFS, QAS, CANTEEN and Cerebral Palsy League.
A focus towards education and the arts is further evident given projects completed with over 100 schools and P&C committees in the public and private education system, TAFE and alternative learning providers. From murals that enable a vibrant learning environment or encourage healthy eating to murals that celebrate unique school characteristics such as history, culture and community.
