Hip Hop Garage

I was recently given the task to add some old school funk to an aspiring young break-dancer’s studio. The Gold Coast garage had been converted into a mini studio, complete with a tape deck wall. I had a really good time, met a cool young dude and I was even allowed to crank my own beats while I worked.  Life is good.

Camp Quality

Last week I visited Currimundi to deliver three stencil art workshops for the Senior Sibs Camp Quality Winter Camp. The workshops were well received and the young participants created an excellent array of artworks despite having no previous experience with the medium. I really enjoyed working with these young people and the staff and volunteers were tops too! This type of experience shows me laughter really is the best medicine. 

Metallic Mayhem

There is no such thing as an RDO if your’e consumed by your passion. Making use of every available opportunity, Kosie and I whipped up a quick concept in Capalaba recently.

Bush Sauce

Whilst bushwalking I discovered an interesting find. The “Bush Sauce” plant or  Saucerusstylus a member of the native gumtreeusmaximus family combines a fern-like foliage with a hardwood bark texture growing to several metres in height. Evolving to suit climatic conditions this specimen displays masses of brightly coloured, bird attracting flowers in early summer and produces tasty berries for a nutritious bush sauce. This genuine species is often imitated by noxious weeds however sap-sucking, aphid infested posers are no match for the original. 

Starshots Surfers Paradise

I relished the opportunity to unleash an abstract piece at Starshots Surfers Paradise. The street looking artwork will be used a a backdrop for upcoming urban style photo shoots.
