Muttaburra

It’s always nice to be back in the Burra. Muttaburra means “meeting of waters” and is situated on Inagai land in the Centre of Queensland. The Muttaburrasaurus was also the first of the dinosaur bone discoveries in Queensland. I have visited numerous times since working with the school back in 2012. This time I installed 2 custom hand painted signs for the motel and completed the western side of the former butcher shop.

Muttaburra

I headed to Muttaburra from Winton and completed the front of what was once a butcher shop. I applied a faux aged look and kept the design simple to let the architecture feature. These old walls certainly have plenty of character.

It was great to be back in the Burra, Muttaburra the Centre of Queensland and home of the Muttaburrasaurus. This visit I worked with the local Rural Fire Service and applied a mural on their station roller door. The artwork turned out great and I just wish I could have stayed longer as theres plenty more public art in the pipeline so I’m very much looking forward to returning soon.

Muttaburra

It’s been far too long since I’ve visited Muttaburra in the Centre of Queensland and great to see the town looking good. As usual there was plenty of friendly locals who made me feel very much welcomed. It was also a pleasure to add to the long list of public art in town with this mural at the Memorial Hall. Thanks to the Muttaburra Community Development Association and Queensland Remembers for funding and Barcaldine Regional Council for supporting the project.
