/Keeping a busy schedule from Miles I returned to Chinchilla to complete entrance signage for Charleys Creek I envisaged working with the font from the logo and giving it a classic handpainted aesthetic.

/Over the past few years I’ve had the opportunity to create a several murals at Charley’s Creek Campground (previously Clover Hill Lodge). Each time I visited I noticed the new owners had made improvements and upgrades.
The latest venture is Charley’s Creek Brewery which will produce a number of craft beer varieties onsite. I was recently set a challenge to design packaging for the debut beer “One in a Melon” which was being rushed through production in time for Chinchilla’s famous Melon Festival.
I was given an interesting brief “can you draw a cow smashing a watermelon” and a super tight deadline, the next thing I knew the limited edition sour beer was being canned and labeled. A big thanks to The Print People and Helios Brewing for assistance.

/After completing projects in Alpha and Muttaburra in Central Western Queensland and a solo exhibition in Barcaldine it was great to head to Charley’s Creek Campground (previously called Clover Hill Ranch) located at the southern limit of the traditional lands of Baranggam country Chinchilla. This place really is a gem, a stones throw from the CBD with friendly hosts and caretakers it offers a relaxed atmosphere with acres of creek side camping. It’s been fantastic to return and compliment recent upgrades to facilities with new artwork at the camp kitchen and some signage. Making the most of its scenic location Charley’s Creek has undergone plenty of changes since I first visited and theres more exciting ventures on the horizon for the site. I very much feel privileged to be a part of the journey and transformation and looking forward to returning over summer.

/Last year I camped at Clover Hill Ranch. It’s a scenic campground on Charleys Creek just a few minutes walk from the town centre in Chinchilla. The new owners were gearing up to upgrade facilities and wanted to make a point of difference. This stay I didn’t get a lot of time relaxing by the creek, kayaking or taking my dog for swims and walks amongst the gum trees. My services were required to paint an amenities block and food trailer.
