EPIC Caboolture
/Students attending a Get Set For Work program at EPIC Employment Service, Caboolture have been busy improving art skills. Recent workshops provided opportunity to complete stencil works on canvas and a fresh looking classroom mural.
Bush Sauce
/
Whilst bushwalking I discovered an interesting find. The “Bush Sauce” plant or Saucerusstylus a member of the native gumtreeusmaximus family combines a fern-like foliage with a hardwood bark texture growing to several metres in height. Evolving to suit climatic conditions this specimen displays masses of brightly coloured, bird attracting flowers in early summer and produces tasty berries for a nutritious bush sauce. This genuine species is often imitated by noxious weeds however sap-sucking, aphid infested posers are no match for the original.
Frog Garden

As someone who attended the Celebratory Luncheon I am a little confused as to why the articles content is so frog focused when the frog feature mural has been cropped from the photo used. The mural was however featured in a prior article “Picnic in park to aid cerebral palsy” 28th July without mention of the artist. This most recent article fails to mention the event was attended by Redland City Mayor Melva Hobson or Cerebral Palsy League CEO Angela Tillmanns nor does it touch on the great attendance, entertainment and days proceedings. The work of award winning mural artist Sauce has previously been misrepresented by the Bayside Bulletin (and continues to be misrepresented http://www.baysidebulletin.com.au/news/local/news/general/laming-promises-for-graffiti/1911832.aspx ) indicating a intentional bias is again displayed in this most recent article.
Wynnum SHS
/Wynnum High has benefited from recent re-vamping and many of the original buildings have taken on modern appearences. It was great to return to apply some colour to one of the few sites where the old red brick remained. The text “We’re Wynnum We’re Proud” and colour scheme of the mural derives from the schools expectations Positive, Respectful, On task, Unified and Determined. Stretching fifty five metres of the 1st level made it diffucult to get good photos so the mural is best viewed from a Citytrain.
Frog Garden

Cerebral Palsy League have been busy creating a fantastic new garden area at the Capalaba Day Service. The Frog Garden mural was painted to compliment all of their great work entailing new paving, garden beds, a veggie patch and frog pond. It was great to catch up with clients and staff at the celebratory luncheon and enjoy the food and entertainment. I appreciate the ongoing support towards visual art projects and feel honoured to have the opportunity to contribute to another fantastic project with CPL. See more
Planet Matterz
/Lashings of gourmet food accompanied a few tins of paint whilst creating a new piece at Planet Matterz, Morningside.
Tadpoles Eatons Hill
/The bush animal themed mural stretches the entire outdoor play area at Tadpoles, Eatons Hill. I completed this artwork after painting frogs and text on the other side of the wall facing Eaton’s Crossing Road last year.
Goodna Youth Service
/It was great to contribute to the recent scooter comp at Riverview supported by Goodna Youth Service and Ipswich City Council. I completed aerosol art demonstrations throughout the day creating unique prizes whilst enjoying the close competition. Hopefully I will have some more pics coming soon.
Withcott and Murphy's Creek
/Murals at Withcott and Murphy’s Creek have completed the Urban Art Project over the weekend. Eight skateparks across the Lockyer Valley have been brightened up with artworks designed and painted by local young people and Aerograffix. Many positive outcomes have been achieved including a young person who initiated the project receiving a Young Citizens Cultural Award. Community feedback has been great and I commend Lockyer Valley Regional Council for supporting youth arts in the face of adversity with disaster relief and recovery still continuing in the region. The RADF funded Urban Art Project has created ownership and provided culturally relevant arts activities for young people. I look forward to contributing to future initiatives now the seed has been sown. Read more:
