Emerald
/Emerald kept me busy as always. This time around I facilitated mural art workshops with local youth to create a large mural at PCYC, A fresh coat at the BMX and Skateparks and painted a mandala in the CBD.
Emerald Aquatic Centre
/The Emerald Aquatic Centre was the first gig Sauce had waiting for him in Emerald, and he was there for six days completing the cartoon murals for the children’s area. Sauce met the manager of the centre on his previous trip to Central Queensland, as the manager was looking for something to smarten the place up before the busy summer season.
The manager was so impressed with the children’s area, he commissioned Sauce to paint an entrance mural too.
Emerald Momentum
/It was great to return to Emerald as the first regional project I facilitated was in Emerald back in 2004. After returning for several youth art projects in 04 & 05, opportunities opened up throughout central Queensland. It is fantastic to see the achievements of the original projects remaining on several sites around town. This visit kept me busy working with Anglicare to complete a team “Momentum” mural and many works on canvas with young people who have participated in camp activities. I was impressed with the drawing skills of the participants and it didn’t take long for several to produce some fantastic aerosol works. Here’s a selection of pics…enjoy!
