The new play area mural is part of a suite of murals completed at Oxenford State School recently. It likely won’t be the last as there’s more in the pipeline however it’s been a pleasure to complete seven sites over the past few years. Oxenford SS provides a great example of how dedicated school staff and a proactive P&C drive projects to benefit the school community.
Once again I find myself kicking off the new year with commissions at Oxenford State School. This time around I took on an almost 50m long awning of the Administration building and worked some magic on the tuck shop. There were a number of contractors onsite through the holiday period and it’s great to be a part of new works. Capturing some of the native flora was fitting as just over a year ago a bunch of eucalyptus were destroyed on school grounds in a tornado. The gardens are growing back and the fauna is singing. It’s always a pleasure working in conjunction with fabulous school staff and P&C.
It was a pleasure to return to Oxenford State School. This time around I painted the senior boys toilet. The wedge tail eagle can be seen soaring as you make your way up the path to the oval. Once again thanks to the fabulous P&C for making this happen.
Oxenford State School have kept me busy with a few murals over recent years. This was another project working in conjunction with the school and P&C to deliver a fun and interactive artwork. I explored a few options, considered various design approaches and this cool twist on the snakes and ladders theme was a winner!

It was great to complete another mural at Oxenford State School. The top oval mural took on a few incarnations throughout the design process. We explored several concepts that combined the text based elements of the 3 sports house and pictorial content. The finished artwork compliments the established eucalypts, flora and fauna around the school grounds and should make for great backdrop for sports day photos. The mural was made possible by Oxenford State School P&C Association.
I enjoyed kicking off the new year with a large scale work at Oxenford State School. The P&C provided the opportunity to paint a native flora & fauna mural which serves as a colourful welcoming statement. I packed in lots of details along the 50m long wall and included some of the animals that were hanging about whilst painting such as bees, spiders, magpies and the resident blue tongue lizard “Bluey”. The feedback has been amazing, from staff, students, OHSC, parents, other contractors, local politicians and residents many of whom have voiced positive comments whilst driving past or stopping to take a closer look and check out the art making process and progress.
