Madison on High Street

Earlier this year I was contacted by the team at Hamilton Hayes Henderson architects to create a mural on an upcoming project. The brief was to reference the history of the site as the apartment building is located where the original Southport railway station operated until 1964. I explored a few options through the concept development stage and came up with a mandala inspired design as my recommended option. After some minor refinements approval was granted and its was time to get cracking. I tried to harness the energy from the jackhammering, concrete cutting and earthshaking machinery operating nearby. At times I could barely hear myself think on the construction site but the contractors were very accommodating and great to work alongside. This was an exciting project to be involved with as only a few times in my career has a client built a wall with a mural in mind.

Emmanuel College

Since completing a mural on the Technology Block last year I have recently returned to Emmanuel College on the Gold Coast. This project entailed painting a floor mural which threw up number of challenges both in the design and application stages however I am very satisfied with the artwork.

Arundel State School

A few weeks ago, I was contacted by the Friends of Aundel State School (FASS) on the Gold Coast, as they wanted to make their tuckshop space more appealing to the students. It was a challenging space to work with, but FASS gave me a clear and simple brief to work to. This meant the design process for the mural was easy and I was able to create something which bright, appealing and worked with the available wall space.

Emmanuel College

A few weeks ago, we were contacted by Emmanuel College on the Gold Coast, with a brief to add some colour to the new extensions at the college. The school had recently upgraded the technology block and they decided a mural would be a great way to make the school more inviting. The college already had an industrial theme chosen as it was in the technology area. This made it easy to create the designs and the artwork (sometimes simple is best!). The theme also allowed Sauce to create artwork which is within his area of interest which is always a bonus.
